About
Renzo Cicillini

Renzo Cicillini returned to analog photography in recent years. To the slowness of medium format, to film stocks, some of which are no longer in production. A rediscovery that became a practice, and then a philosophy.
His work is graphic and reduced: nature becomes surface, scenes are distilled to light, form, and composition. Analog color, deliberate exposure, minimal framing. He follows each image through the entire process, quiet, attentive, unhurried. The way the medium demands to be used.
Silent Frames connects different narratives through a single thread: stillness. A body of work he continues to explore.
He lives in Switzerland and photographs wherever silence can be found.
