Some places are always quiet. Others are silent only for a moment, before the world arrives.

Silent Frames begins there: in the hour before the crowds, at the edge of dusk, in the corner of a busy square where no one looks. In the pause before someone speaks. In the strength of a figure who doesn't need to.

The photographs are made on analog medium format, with deliberately chosen film stocks, some no longer in production for decades. Longer exposures, used with intent, bring out the character of the film and the graphic quality of the scene.

Nature becomes surface, composition becomes reduction.

Renzo Cicillini does not set out to find these moments. He recognizes them.

Silent Frames is a visual philosophy of stillness.
